Meredith skits – sharing the vision

The basic philosophy underlying a fair and just workers’ compensation system, known as the “Meredith Principles,” must be understood if they are to be applied and maintained. Theatre is one way to share the history of this system that balances the rights and responsibilities of injured workers, employers and society. In Ontario, Prof. Robert Storey and the Injured Worker History Project has developed the Meredith skit for just this purpose. A play in which the leading characters and the dialogue are taken verbatim from the Meredith Royal Commission, it has been performed in many variations for many audiences and received with great enthusiasm!
